SUCCESSFUL FUTUROLOGIST, ENTREPRENEUR, AUTHOR AND SPEAKER
For over 25 years, Ian Pearson has been a full time futurologist. He presents his insights into the future of many aspects of our daily lives - from work to leisure, and from capitalism to the care economy. His more than 1750 inventions include text messaging and the active contact lens and he has made over 675 TV and radio appearances.

Ian Pearson graduated in 1981 in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from Queens University, Belfast. After four years in Shorts Missile Systems, he joined BT Laboratories as a performance analyst, and later worked in network design, computer evolution, cybernetics, and mobile systems.

From 1991 until 2007, he was BTs Futurologist, tracking and predicting new developments throughout information technology, considering both technological and social implications. He is now running Futurizon, a startup futures institute. As a futurologist and consultant, he lectures widely on his futures views.

Ian specialises in explaining the impacts of sometimes complex technology to ordinary people and non-techy executives. He offers conference keynotes, workshops and dinner talks.
