James is one of the original pioneers of the London digital and mobile scene since 1995. He was the originator of the term "creative technology" and an early evangelist of the Lean methodology and going into large corporations and teaching them to simplify to create successful products and services. .
Pioneering CTO for London digital agencies (Dare, VCCP, Iris Worldwide) using plain English to demystify technology to a viable business platform for clients including Unilever , Barclays, Sony Ericsson, Shell etc. Key to this success was originating the term 'Creative Technology' as a concept to unify design and development teams to deliver groundbreaking work.
In 2006 he founded agencymobile to pioneer mobile applications and became the 'go-to' premium mobile agency for leading companies as diverse as the BBC, Deutsche Bank , The Football Association and the Telegraph. They delivered over 25 Apple App Store Number Ones and pioneered technology and user journeys that have now become standard including the hybrid app model and mobile banking metaphors now used by all leading fintech companies. We also contributed to Apple's SDK creating many now standard approaches to UX and UI components. He also pioneered mobile payments by coming up with the idea for Mopowered plc with the founder of Mobank.
Since then, James has been instrumental in helping startups from early stage to acquisition for over 10 years including Blippar (UK Unicorn) , Testlio (Angelhack winner 2013) , Mindsauce, Eventopedia , Mobank and Touriocity with a special focus on early-stage / pre-seed ventures where his advanced digital product knowledge is unique in honing a vision to a finely tuned , usable , revenue-generating digital service.
