Adam Hart-Davis
BROADCASTER, AUTHOR AND FREELANCE WRITER
Adam Hart-Davis is a freelance writer and former broadcaster: presenter on television of Local Heroes, What the Romans (and others) Did for Us, World, How London was Built, The Cosmos a beginners guide, and many others. He has received various awards for both television and radio, as well as three medals and 14 honorary doctorates.
He has written approximately 35 books, including Thunder, flush, & Thomas Crapper (an encycLOOpedia), Science, the definitive visual guide, and Engineers. His latest book is Very Heath Robinson - stories of his absurdly ingenious world. He has also written numerous newspaper and magazine articles.
In addition to writing books, Adam spends a lot of time making chairs, tables, bowls, and spoons out of green wood. Adam is a member of the Association of Pole-Lathe Turners and the British Toilet Association, and is a keen supporter of the charities WaterAid, Sustrans, Practical Action, and the Joliba Trust.
